State Requirements
Psychotherapy.net is an approved CE provider for the state of Illinois by:
- The Illinois Clinical Psychologists Licensing & Disciplinary Board accepts courses from any provider who is APA approved.
- The Illinois Mental Health Counselors accepts courses from any provider who is NBCC and/or NAADAC approved for Counselors.
- The Illinois Board of Marriage and Family Therapy accepts courses from any provider who is APA and/or NBCC approved for LMFTs.
- The Illinois State Clinical Social Work accepts courses approved by ASWB ACE for Social Workers.
License Requirements
Psychologists
24 hours every 2 years, 18 of which may be completed by home study. A minimum of 3 of the 24 hours must be in ethics every 2 years.
Prescribing psychologists are required to complete 20 hours of continuing education in pharmacology in addition to the 24 hours required to renew a clinical psychologist license every 2 years.
Marriage and Family Therapy
MFT: 30 hours every 2 years.
Licensed Professional Counselor
LPC: 30 hours every 2 years.
Social Worker
LBSW / LMSW / LICSW: 30 hours every 2 years. 3 hours ethics required.
