Named one of the ten most influential therapists of the past quarter-century, he is the author of several books, including his classic family therapy text, Families and Family Therapy.
Jay Lappin, LCSW, is a Structural Family Therapist, trainer and author. He spent fourteen years at the Philadelphia Child Guidance Clinic, where, under the direction of Dr. Salvador Minuchin, he was a senior trainer, research therapist, and the Associate Director of the Post-Graduate Certificate Program in Family Therapy & Systems Consultation. His work has been published in professional journals and texts and he has been quoted in popular magazines and newspapers such as Cosmopolitan, Self, and USA Today. He is a Contributing Editor for the Psychotherapy Networker and a board member for the Minuchin Center for the Family, and he maintains an active clinical private practice.
