This two-part documentary film highlights two art therapists of color in the United States: Georgette Seabrooke Powell and Cliff Joseph.

The interview with Georgette Seabrooke details the journey of a woman of color engaged in her various communities (schools, WPA, hospitals, Dept of Recreation) over the years and how she utilized her passion and artistic talent to connect with individuals on various levels. Georgette’s journey of how she became an art therapist and started community art projects and organizations are key features in this film.

Conversations with Cliff Jones” a film by Barbara Fish is an interview exploring Cliff Jones’ path to art therapy as a career and his engagement with using art for activism and social change. Topics such as culturally specific therapy, multiculturalism, and cultural competency are discussed.
