State Requirements
Psychotherapy.net is an approved CE provider for the state of Alabama by:
- The Alabama Board of Examiners in Psychology accepts courses from any provider who is APA approved.
- The Alabama Board of Examiners in Counseling accepts courses from any provider who is NBCC and/or NAADAC approved.
- The Alabama Board of Examiners in Marriage & Family Therapy accepts courses from any provider who is APA and/or NBCC approved.
- The Alabama Board of Social Work Examiners accepts courses approved by ASWB ACE.
License Requirements
Psychologists
20 hours per year for license renewal.
Up to 6 hours of “surplus” hours from one year may be carried over to the subsequent year.
Marriage and Family Therapy
MFT: 40 hours every two years, a minimum of 6 must be in ethics and a minimum of 6 hours must be in diagnosis and treatment.
MFTA: 20 hours every two years, a minimum of 3 of the 20 hours must be in ethics and a minimum of 3 hours must be in diagnosis and treatment.
Licensed Professional Counselor
LPC: 40 hours every two years, a minimum of 6 hours must be in ethics.
ALC: 10 hours each year, a minimum of 2 of the 10 hours must be in ethics.
Social Worker
LBSW / LMSW / LICSW: 30 hours every 2 years, a minimum of 3 hours must be in ethics.
