State Requirements
Psychotherapy.net is an approved CE provider for the state of California by:
- The California Board of Psychology accepts courses from any provider who is APA approved.
- The California Board of Behavioral Science accepts courses from any provider who is NBCC and/or NAADAC approved.
- The California Board of Behavioral Science accepts courses from any provider who is APA and/or NBCC approved.
- The California Board of Behavioral Science accepts courses approved by ASWB ACE.
License Requirements
Psychologists
36 hours every two years, 27 of which may be taken by home study
Marriage and Family Therapy
LMFT: 36 hours every 2 years, with 6 hours in law and ethics, 6 hours in suicide risk and assessment*, 3 hours in telehealth**, 7 hours in HIV/AIDS***
*Required for licensees who renew/reactivate after January 1, 2021
**Required for licensees who renew/reactivate after July 1, 2023
***Required for a NEW Licensee’s FIRST Renewal Only
Licensed Professional Counselor
LPC: 36 hours every 2 years, with 6 hours in law and ethics
Social Worker
LBSW / LMSW / LICSW: 36 hours every 2 years, with 6 hours in law and ethics
