State Requirements
Psychotherapy.net is an approved CE provider for the state of Texas by:
- The Texas State Board of Examiners of Psychologists accepts courses from any provider who is APA approved.
- The Texas State Board of Examiners of Professional Counselors accepts courses from any provider who is NBCC and/or NAADAC approved.
- The Texas State Board of Examiners of Marriage and Family Therapy accepts courses from any provider who is APA and/or NBCC approved.
- The Texas State Board of Social Worker Examiners accepts courses approved by ASWB ACE.
License Requirements
Psychologists
40 hours every two years. A minimum of 6 of the 40 hours must be in ethics and 6 hours must be in cultural diversity each year.
Marriage and Family Therapy
MFT: 30 hours every 2 years. 12 hours of home study permitted. 6 of the 30 hours must be in ethics and 3 must be in cultural diversity.
Licensed Professional Counselor
LPC: 24 hours every 2 years. 4 of the 24 hours must be in ethics, and 2 of those must be in Texas ethics.
Social Worker
LBSW / LMSW / LICSW: 30 hours every 2 years, with 6 hours in ethics.
