State Requirements
Psychotherapy.net is an approved CE provider for the state of Virginia by:
- The Virginia Board of Psychology accepts courses from any provider who is APA approved.
- The Virginia Board of Counseling accepts courses from any provider who is NBCC and/or NAADAC approved.
- The Virginia Board of Counseling accepts courses from any provider who is APA and/or NBCC approved.
- The Virginia Board of Social Work accepts courses approved by ASWB ACE.
License Requirements
Psychologists
14 hours per year, 8 of which may be completed by home study. 1.5 of the 14 hours must be in ethics each year.
Marriage and Family Therapy
MFT: 20 hours per year. 2 of the 20 must be in ethics.
Licensed Professional Counselor
LPC: 20 hours per year, 2 of the 20 must be in ethics.
Social Worker
LCSW: 30 hours every 2 years, with 6 hours in ethics & law.
LMSW / LBSW: 15 hours every 2 years, with 6 hours in ethics & law.
