Event Details

Clients receiving mental health treatment are increasingly prescribed multiple medications, raising the likelihood of side effects, drug interactions, and complex clinical presentations. Therapists and social workers are often in a position to observe changes in mood, cognition, behavior, and functioning that may be influenced by medication-related factors. This 1-hour clinical training provides an overview of polypharmacy and its relevance to behavioral health practice. Participants will learn to recognize common medication-related side effects that may emerge in therapy, differentiate these effects from primary psychiatric symptoms, and develop targeted questions to explore potential medication-related concerns. The course is designed to enhance clinical observation and assessment skills while supporting appropriate collaboration with prescribing providers.
