The viewer observes the client using multiple art materials, making choices, engaging in non-verbal expression, and navigating the transition from college to graduate school. Geller is interviewed and offers clinical insight into her work with this student. Viewers can reflect on developmental theory and lifespan theory to assist in interpreting Geller’s clinical approach, as well as the client’s presentation during the sessions. The technique employed by the art therapist is inviting, friendly, and thoughtful, allowing the student to get to know the therapist and the process of art therapy. In the course of four sessions, the young woman discovers a great deal and, reflecting on her art and associations, gains insight into the meaning of this moment in her life.
