Overview

In Volume 1, UK-based mindfulness expert Devin Ashwood introduces the video with an overview of MBRP’s goals and its mindfulness-based foundation. Based on the notion that people tend to relapse when they’re caught in “automatic pilot,” Ashwood’s facilitation is designed to support clients’ ability to identify, observe, and diffuse challenging internal states. From there, you’ll watch him lead two integral practices of an eight-week MBRP course. You’ll observe a very detailed “body scan” along with a guided visualization of “walking down the street,” and you’ll watch Ashwood conduct group inquiry around each activity. Commentary on the finer points of the method is offered throughout, outlining key concepts and noting places where practitioners can apply their own experience to the work.

What you'll learn

  • Explain the theoretical underpinnings of MBRP.
  • Discuss the core mindfulness practices of MBRP.
  • Plan effective treatment utilizing mindfulness-based techniques.
