Overview

Supervision is a cornerstone in the foundation of the clinician’s professional identity and development; a safe place in which mutual trust, communication, and problem-solving take place. Rather than a top-down, hierarchical relationship between supervisor and supervisee, it is a frame in which teaching and learning converge, and from which the clinician’s confidence and competence evolve. In this rich webinar experience, Psychotherapy.net’s Editor, Lawrence Rubin, along with renowned supervision expert, Dr. Rodney Goodyear will provide you with powerful clinical tools for establishing your own supervisory relationships.

Developed over the course of his extensive career in scholarship and clinical practice, Goodyear’s Learning Partnership Framework is not only a comprehensive model of effective supervision, but an easy-to-follow, adaptable, and flexible roadmap for its implementation. By watching him work with a supervisee, discussing the interaction with Rubin, and fielding questions from a global audience, you will learn how to effectively structure your own first supervision session.

You will come away from this invaluable learning experience by recognizing that good supervision begins neither mechanistically nor technically, but relationally and collaboratively. So, whether you are a beginning or veteran supervisor, be prepared to acquire invaluable tools that you can immediately put into practice.

What you'll learn

  • addressing differences in theoretical orientation and how that might play out in the supervision
