Urvi Paralkar

Urvi Paralkar, MA is a second-year Ph.D. student in counseling psychology at Southern Illinois University, Carbondale. She holds an M.A. in Counseling Psychology from Southern Illinois University Carbondale, an M.A. in Clinical Psychology from the University of Hartford, and a B.A. in Psychology from St. Xavier’s College, India. Urvi's research interests lie in studying the constructs of tolerance of ambiguity and uncertainty.

Usha Tummala-Narra

Usha Tummala-Narra, PhD, conducts research on mental health and trauma within immigrant communities, focusing her work on cultural competence in psychotherapy. Her expertise includes areas of immigration, race, gender, interpersonal and collective trauma, and culturally informed psychoanalytic psychotherapy. She serves as chair of the Awards Committee for the American Psychological Association’s Division of Psychoanalysis and is on the advisory board for the Social Justice and Human Rights Program at the Boston Graduate School of Psychoanalysis. Since 2015, she has been a member of the American Psychological Association’s Task Force on Re-envisioning the Multicultural Guidelines for the 21st Century. The American Psychological Association has honored her with numerous awards, including the Diversity Award and the Shining Star Award. She received her bachelor’s degree from the University of Michigan and her master’s and doctoral degrees from Michigan State University. A licensed psychologist and co-author of dozens of books including Psychoanalytic Theory and Cultural Competence in Psychotherapy, and journal articles, Tummala-Narra has lent her expertise to NPR, NBC News, Al Jazeera America and many other outlets. She currently serves on three editorial boards: the Asian American Journal of Psychology, Psychoanalytic Psychology, and Psychology of Men and Masculinity.

Valery Hazanov

Valery Hazanov, PhD, was born in Moscow and raised in Israel. He received his doctorate in clinical psychology at Columbia University and trained at various hospitals and clinics in New York City. Before training as a psychologist, he had worked for several years with juvenile delinquents, managing the Jerusalem district of a national program to stop youth crime. He is a former fellow of the American Psychoanalytic Association and the Columbia Psychoanalytic Center. He lives in Jerusalem.

Vicki Marcum

Vicki Marcum, LCSW, RPT-S, has worked as a clinician in community mental health as a Qualified Examiner, in Intensive Day Treatment, Psych-Social Rehab Extended Day Treatment, with the Chronically Mentally Ill (Sustaining Care), in Child and Family Services, Family Case Management, SASS Crisis Intervention, and In-Home Services. She has had the privilege of participating in a specialized Parent-Infant In-Home Program working with children under the age of 4 with attachment disorder as well as a specialized program, affectionately called “Mother House,” providing Therapy and Case Management services to both the adult and children residing in the complex. In private practice, Vicki has worked in Early Intervention serving children under 3 and as a child and family therapist for Child Welfare Services. In her free time, she is an active participant with The Stars of Light, providing education and awareness on mental illness using the creative arts in the community. 

Vicki Enns, MMFT

Vicki Enns, MMFT, RMFT-SM, is the Clinical Director of the Crisis and Trauma Resource Institute, and an individual, couple, and family therapist with her own private practice. She specializes in the areas of trauma healing and relationship wellness and is an Approved Supervisor with the AAMFT and CAMFT. Vicki is the editor and a contributing author of two CTRI books: Counseling in Relationships: Insights for Helping Families Develop Healthy Connections, and Counseling Insights: Practical Strategies for Helping Others with Anxiety, Trauma, Grief, and More, and is a co-author of A Little Book About Trauma-Informed Workplaces.

Tamara McClintock Greenberg

Tamara McClintock Greenberg has a psychotherapy practice in San Francisco, CA, where she sees adults. Her specialties include: relationship issues, aging and medical illness. As an associate professor of psychiatrity at the University of California, San Francisco, Greenberg's writings focus on health psychology, psychoanalytic psychology and the integration of the two. Tara Brach

Tara Brach, PhD., is a clinical psychologist, lecturer, and popular teacher of Buddhist mindfulness (vipassana) meditation. She is founder and senior teacher of the Insight Meditation Community of Washington, and teaches meditation at centers throughout the United States. Tara has offered speeches and workshops for mental health practitioners at numerous professional conferences. These, along with her many audio talks and videos address the value of meditation in relieving emotional suffering and serving spiritual awakening.
