Christine Sacco-Bene, Ph.D., LMHC, NCC, CRC, is a licensed professional counselor and licensed mental health professional. She is an associate clinical professor in the Rehabilitation Counseling Department at the University of South Carolina. Francine Shapiro, PhD, is the originator and developer of EMDR, which has been so well researched that it is now recommended as an effective treatment for trauma in the Practice Guidelines of the American Psychiatric Association, and those of the Departments of Defense and Veterans Affairs. Shapiro is a Senior Research Fellow Emeritus at the Mental Research Institute in Palo Alto, California, Executive Director of the EMDR Institute in Watsonville, CA, and founder and President Emeritus of the EMDR Humanitarian Assistance Programs, a non-profit organization that coordinates disaster response and low fee trainings worldwide.
She is a recipient of the International Sigmund Freud Award for distinguished contribution to psychotherapy presented by the City of Vienna in conjunction with the World Council, the American Psychological Association Trauma Division Award for Outstanding Contributions to Practice in Trauma Psychology, and the Distinguished Scientific Achievement in Psychology Award presented by the California Psychological Association.
Shapiro was designated as one of the "Cadre of Experts" of the American Psychological Association & Canadian Psychological Association Joint Initiative on Ethnopolitical Warfare, and has served as advisor to a wide variety of trauma treatment and outreach organizations and journals. She has been an invited speaker at psychology conferences worldwide and has written and co-authored more than 60 articles, chapters, and books about EMDR, including Getting Past Your Past: Taking Control of Your Life with Self-Help Techniques from EMDR Therapy (Rodale), EMDR: Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing: Basic Principles, Protocols and Procedures (Guilford Press), EMDR: The Breakthrough Therapy for Overcoming Anxiety, Stress and Trauma (Basic Books), EMDR as an Integrative Psychotherapy Approach: Experts of Diverse Orientations Explore the Paradigm Prism (American Psychological Association Books), and Handbook of EMDR and Family Therapy Processes (Wiley).

Angie Panos, PhD, is a licensed marriage and family therapist, and a licensed clinical social worker. She has more than twenty years of experience in traumatic stress treatment, dealing with war refugees, and victims of domestic violence, rape and child abuse.
Frank Pittman, MD (1935-2012) was the author of Grow Up! How Taking Responsibility Can Make You a Happy Adult (1999), Private Lies: Infidelity and Betrayal of Intimacy (1990) and Turning Points, a book about treating families in transitions and crises. He is also featured on the video Empowerment Family Therapy. Dr. Pittman practiced out of Atlanta, Georgia, where he was active as a psychiatrist and family therapist from 1962 until his death in 2012.
Fugen Neziroglu, PhD is Director of the Bio-Behavioral Institute in Great Neck, NY. She is the author of over 175 publications on OCD and related disorders and 3 on body dysmorphic disorder including Overcoming Hoarding: A Self-Help Guide Using Cognitive Behavioural Techniques and Body Dysmorphic Disorder: A Treatment Manual. She has appeared on numerous TV programs and is the recipient of the IOCDF lifetime achievement award for her work on obsessive compulsive disorder. She is on the Scientific Advisory Board of IOCDF and President of OCDNY.
G. Alan Marlatt, PhD spent many years as a Professor of Psychology and Director of the Addictive Behaviors Research Center at the University of Washington. He has published over 200 articles and book chapters as well as five books, and his work on relapse prevention, assessment and harm reduction has had a wide impact on the treatment of addictions in the U.S. and abroad.
