Thomas Moore

Thomas Moore, PhD is the author of the bestselling book Care of the Soul and ������fteen other books on deepening spirituality and cultivating soul in every aspect of life. He has been a monk, a musician, a university professor, and a psychotherapist, and today he lectures widely on holistic medicine, spirituality, psychotherapy, and the arts. He lectures frequently in Ireland and has a special love of Irish culture. He has a PhD in religion from Syracuse University and has won several awards for his work, including an honorary doctorate from Lesley University and the Humanitarian Award from Einstein Medical School of Yeshiva University. Three of his books have won the prestigious Books for a Better Life awards. He writes ������ction and music and often works with his wife, artist and yoga instructor, Hari Kirin. Thomas Szasz

Thomas S. Szasz received his M.D. degree from the University of Cincinnati. He is currently professor of psychiatry emeritus at SUNY Health Science Center in Syracuse, New York, where he has taught since 1956. Dr. Szasz is the author of over 600 articles, book chapters, book reviews, and newspaper columns. His classic The Myth of Mental Illness (1961) made him a figure of international fame and controversy. Many of his works–such as Law, Liberty, and Psychiatry, The Ethics of Psychoanalysis, Ceremonial Chemistry, and Our Right to Drugs are regarded as among the most influential in the 20th century by leaders in medicine, law, and the social sciences.

Thupten Jinpa

Thupten Jinpa, PhD, is the chief English translator to the Dalai Lama and is the translator and editor of many books, including Ethics for the New Millennium and Toward a True Kinship of Faiths: How the World's Religions Can Come Together. His newest book: A Fearless Heart: How the Courage to Be Compassionate Can Transform Our Lives, will be released May 5, 2015. A former monk, he completed his doctorate in religious studies at Cambridge University. He was a major contributor to Compassion Cultivation Training (CCT) of the Center for Compassion and Altruism Research and Education (CCARE) at Stanford University. He currently resides in Montreal with his wife and children, and teaches at McGill University.

Tian Dayton

Tian Dayton, PhD, TEP has presented psychodrama to wide audiences across the U.S. for two and a half decades. She taught psychodrama at New York University for eight years and seven as Director of program development for Caron Treatment Center. Currently, she is the director of The New York Psychodrama Training Institute. She is the author of numerous books, including The Living Stage: A Step-by-Step Guide to Psychodrama, Sociometry and Group Psychotherapy, The Drama Within: Psychodrama and Experiential Therapy and Emotional Sobriety: From Relationship Trauma to Resilience and Balance.

Timothy Bruce

Timothy Bruce, PhD, is Professor and Associate Chair of the Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Medicine. A summa cum laude graduate of the honors program curriculum at Indiana State University, Bruce received his Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology from The University at Albany-State University of New York under the mentorship of Dr. David Barlow. He completed his residency training at Wilford Hall USAF Medical Center under the direction of Dr. Robert Klepac.

Bruce is active in the clinical, educational, and scholarship missions of the department. He serves several administrative positions in the department including Associate Chair, Director of Medical Student Education, and Director of the Psychiatry Residency Scholarship Program. Bruce's contributions to the literature include over 30 books and training manuals, as well as numerous professional journal articles, book chapters, encyclopedia articles, and other works. His areas of interests include education and training, the evidence-based practice of clinical psychology, and cognitive behavioral therapies. In addition to maintaining his own clinical practice, Bruce supervises the psychotherapy training of residents. Recognized for his work in academic administration as well as classroom and clinical teaching, Bruce has received over three dozen awards for his efforts in these areas to date.

Most recently, Bruce has been contributing editor and co-author of Arthur Jongsma’s widely used PracticePlanners© Series, empirically informing it with results from the psychotherapy outcome literature.

Tobi Klein

Tobi Klein, MSW, MFT, TEP (d. 2016)  the first Canadian certified as a Psychodrama Director by the Moreno Institute, was Director of the Canadian Institute of Psychodrama and Psychotherapy, a private practitioner treating interpersonal, sexual and divorce problems, and a certified Divorce Mediator. A lecturer and supervisor in the Creative Arts Therapies program at Concordia, Klein was affiliated with the Westmount Square Medical Clinic and the Institute Samara in Montreal.

Steve de Shazer

In 1985, Steve de Shazer published the conceptual model for solution-focused therapy. His prolific writings include six books and more than 50 professional papers and collaborative works. He served on the editorial board for journals such as American Journal of Family Therapy, Journal of Marital and Family Therapy, Family Process and Zeitschrift fur Systemiche Therapie. A highly sought after trainer, de Shazer was invited to speak in conferences across North America, Europe, Australia, and Asia. Following the scientist-practitioner model, de Shazer served as Senior Research Associate at BFTC since 1989. He was also a fellow of the American Association for Marital and Family Therapy and member of the European Brief Therapy Association.
