Anita Barrows

Anita Barrows was born in Brooklyn, NY in 1947. She settled in the Bay Area during her college years and—except for some years spent in Boston and London—has been living there since. She has Masters' degrees in English Literature and Italian Literature and a PhD from the Wright Institute in psychology. She has been in private practice since 1988 and has taught at The Wright since 1987. She has won an NEA grant in poetry—among other awards—and has five published books of poems, two of which have won national awards. Her translations from the German of Rainer Maria Rilke, with Joanna Macy, have sold over 100,000 copies. She also translates from French and Italian. She has been a lifelong socialist and activist for social justice causes. Barrows has two grown daughters and a teenaged granddaughter and lives with a number of dogs, cats and birds. She plays the viola da gamba, sings renaissance music and spends a lot of time at Point Isabel, the dog park in Richmond, CA.

Ann Beckley-Forest, LCSW

Ann Beckley-Forest, LCSW, RPT-S, is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in private practice in Buffalo, New York. Her specialties include attachment and child and adolescent trauma, and she also works with adult survivors. She is certified in EMDR and is an EMDR Approved Consultant and Trainer and a faculty member of the Child Trauma Institute, as well as a Registered Play Therapist and Supervisor and Approved Provider of play therapy continuing education through the Association for Play Therapy. She provides consultation in person and remotely and provides training, both locally and internationally. Her primary interest is in the intersection of play therapy and EMDR and has published on this topic including as co-editor of the 2020 EMDR with Children in the Play Therapy Room: An Integrated Approach (2020), a chapter from which can be found here and the upcoming Oxford Handbook of EMDR.  

Ann Steiner

Ann Steiner, PhD, MFT, CGP, is an Associate Clinical Professor at the Department of Psychiatry, University of California Medical School, San Francisco. She is a Fellow of the American Group Psychotherapy Society. She was also a founding member of the National Registry of Group Psychotherapists and American Orthopsychiatric Association's Disability Study Group, as well as President of Northern California Group Psychotherapy Society.

Dr. Steiner is a member of the National Speakers Association. She is a keynote speaker and presenter for professional and consumer organizations nationally and locally, and writes for consumers and therapists. She offers a wide range of workshops, including hands-on workshops about the Blueprint for Therapeutic Continuity. She has been leading psychotherapy groups for 24 years, supervises, trains and consults to therapists in Northern California. Anna Lembke

Anna Lembke, MD, received her undergraduate degree in Humanities from Yale University and her medical degree from Stanford University. She is currently Professor and Medical Director of Addiction Medicine, Stanford University School of Medicine. She is also Program Director of the Stanford Addiction Medicine Fellowship, and Chief of the Stanford Addiction Medicine Dual Diagnosis Clinic. She is a diplomate of the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology, and a diplomate of the American Board of Addiction Medicine. Dr. Lembke was one of the first in the medical community to sound the alarm regarding opioid overprescribing and the opioid epidemic. In 2016, she published her best-selling book on the prescription drug epidemic, Drug Dealer, MD: How Doctors Were Duped, Patients Got Hooked, and Why It’s So Hard to Stop (Johns Hopkins University Press, 2016). Using her public platform and her faculty position at Stanford University School of Medicine, Dr. Lembke has developed multiple teaching programs on addiction and safe prescribing, as well as opioid tapering. She has held multiple leadership and mentorship positions and received the Stanford’s Chairman’s Award for Clinical Innovation, and the Stanford Departmental Award for Outstanding Teaching. Dr. Lembke continues to educate policymakers and the public about causes of and solutions for the problem of addiction. Her latest book, Dopamine Nation: Finding Balance in the Age of Indulgence, promises to do just that.

Anna Zonen

Anna Zonen, LCSW, is a clinical social worker in private practice in Little Silver, NJ. Anna mainly works with adults dealing with a variety of mental health concerns and complex trauma. Anna is a passionate advocate of trauma informed care, and finds her work with young females and women to be the most rewarding. Her approach to treatment is relational and she believes that secure, loving relationships, and deep meaningful connections are the greatest catalysts to change. Annia Raysberg, LMFT

Annia Raysberg, LMFT, is a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist in private practice based in Castro Valley, California. Annia works with individuals 18 and over dealing
with a wide range of issues including anxiety, depression, life transitions, relationships, and work stress. Prior to private practice, Annia had worked for many years in drug and alcohol treatment centers in the San Francisco Bay Area. Anthony Prendergast

Anthony Prendergast is a certified transactional analyst (CTA) and AEDP level 2 therapist, supervisor and trainer. He has written a number of articles for the British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP) about pioneering therapeutic techniques that he developed. After breaking his neck in a cycle accident and a period of paralysis, he reevaluated his previous life and began a process of personal development, looking for a purpose in his life. He found it when he volunteered for the Samaritans, after one of his nieces committed suicide. Anthony Smith

Anthony Smith, LMHC, is the author of Getting Started as a New Therapist: 50+ Tips for Clinical Effectiveness, to be released in the summer of 2024 by Routledge. He is a licensed mental health counselor with 23 years of experience in Massachusetts.
